RUNNINGThrough running, I developed the athletic skills, which have allowed me to quickly develop my talent in flat-water kayaking.4:09 mile13:49 5k29:31 10kEDUCATIONDual Degrees in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering from the University of New OrleansKAYAKINGI became intrigued by kayaks at the age of 11. When I turned 16, I bought my first kayak. My interest in engineering developed because of this first kayak. This kayak was one of the longest and thinnest sea-kayaks available, but it was not one of the fastest. In fact there were shorter, wider kayaks that were clearly faster than the kayak I owned. I wanted to know why my kayak was slower than the others. To answer that question, I became a Naval Architect. I have spent the past 7 years designing ships and earning a degree in Naval Architecture.I have designed everything from kayaks to oilrigs, The aspect of Naval Architecture that I love is designing kayaks. My passion for kayaking goes beyond open-water paddling. I am an avid white-water paddler. Over the past 7 years, most of my vacations have been spent pushing the limits of kayaking. My winters are spent on technical rock impacted rivers, known as creeking. While the summers are spent learning the newest tricks, this type of paddling is called play-boating. My paddling resume reads like a novel. For me kayaking is a life-long adventure. Below are a few recommendations of places to go paddling.
